In Their Own Words
Kanya Mahasiri
Phuket, Thailand
"I attended the planning workshop in May and came away with a much clearer picture of what I need to sort out over the next few years. The pace was comfortable — nothing rushed — and the workbook is something I keep coming back to. I would recommend it to anyone who feels a bit overwhelmed when they start thinking about retirement."

Richard Lomas
British expatriate, Phuket
"I had boxes of paperwork going back fifteen years and absolutely no system. Prayut spent a morning with me sorting everything out — physical files labelled, digital copies organised on a memory stick. I now actually know where my documents are. Simple as that. Worth every baht."

Siriporn Parinwong
HR Manager, Phuket
"We needed something we could hand to new HR staff that explained the pension admin steps clearly, without requiring them to read through lengthy external documents. The kit Sarah put together for us does exactly that. It took a couple of rounds to get the terminology right for our context, but the process was straightforward."

Singapore national, based in Phuket
"I want to be clear: Pillarwise does not give advice, and they are upfront about that from the start. What they do give you is a much clearer way of thinking about the practical side of retirement — what questions to ask, what documents to keep, how to structure your thinking. The workshop gave me a useful framework I did not have before."

Anchalee Tongdee

"The paperwork organisation service was very practical. My main concern was privacy — having someone handle documents that contain personal and financial information. Pillarwise explained exactly what they would and would not keep, and I could see they followed through on that. All my original documents came back and the digital copies are on my own drive."

Australian expatriate, Phuket
"I am sixty-two and had been putting off thinking seriously about retirement for years because it all felt so complicated. The workshop broke it down into manageable pieces without making me feel rushed or overwhelmed. Nattha is very good at fielding questions without making anyone feel foolish for asking them."

How Clients Have Used Our Services
Case Study 01 — Individual Client
From a shoebox of papers to a two-folder system
The Situation
A 59-year-old Thai national who had worked across several employers over thirty years. He had accumulated employment contracts, provident fund statements, insurance documents and bank records in no particular order across two cardboard boxes and a folder on his laptop desktop.
What We Did
We worked with him over two half-day sessions. All physical documents were sorted by category and year, labelled and placed in a two-folder filing system. Digital scans were named consistently and organised in five clear folders on a USB drive. A one-page master index was created listing every document and its location.
The Outcome
At the end of two sessions, all documents were accounted for and findable within seconds. The client noted that seeing everything laid out clearly made him more confident about the conversations he needed to have with a financial adviser — something he had been avoiding because he did not know where his documents were.
"It sounds simple, but just being able to put my hands on the right piece of paper makes the whole thing feel less daunting."
Case Study 02 — B2B Client
Consistent HR onboarding across a growing team
The Situation
A Phuket-based hospitality company with around eighty staff had recently expanded its HR function and was onboarding two new HR coordinators. Pension administration had previously been handled by one senior staff member, and there was no written record of the standard steps they followed.
What We Did
After an initial call with the HR manager, we drafted an internal reference pack covering the standard administrative steps for enrolling new staff, processing changes and handling departures. The pack included process flowcharts, a checklist template and a glossary. One revision round was used to align terminology with the company's existing practices.
The Outcome
The two new HR coordinators had a consistent reference document from their first week. The HR manager reported that the onboarding process for new hires felt noticeably smoother during the following quarter, as the documentation removed ambiguity about who was responsible for which steps.
"Having something written down that everyone refers to makes a real difference when you are scaling a team."
